About CoolMyMind
CoolMyMind exists to make evidence-based mental health tools — drawn from CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and behavioral psychology — practical and accessible, without sensational claims or oversimplified advice.
What we do
We write articles, curate books, and build free interactive resources around a handful of well-researched frameworks: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and behavioral psychology. The goal with everything we publish is the same — explain not just what to do, but why it works, so it actually holds up when things get hard, not just in theory.
We'd rather publish fewer, more useful pieces than chase every trending topic. If an idea sounds good but doesn't have real research behind it, we leave it out.
Who we are
CoolMyMind is written and maintained by an individual with a genuine interest in psychology and evidence-based self-help — not a licensed therapist, psychologist, or counselor. Everything here is researched carefully and grounded in established, peer-reviewed frameworks, but it's offered in the spirit of "the friend who's read the research," not clinical advice from a professional who's assessed your specific situation.
That distinction matters, and we try to be upfront about it everywhere it's relevant — see our Disclaimer for the full picture on what this site is and isn't a substitute for.
How this site supports itself
CoolMyMind is supported through the Amazon Associates program (we earn a small commission on qualifying purchases from the books we recommend, at no extra cost to you) and sales of our own original e-book. We only recommend books we think are genuinely worth reading — see our Affiliate Disclosure for the details.
What this site is not
CoolMyMind is educational content, not medical or mental health treatment. It can't assess your specific situation the way a licensed professional can, and it's not equipped to handle a crisis. If you're struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional — and if you're in crisis, contact a local emergency service or crisis helpline right away.
